- Go to any PowerPoint presentation and choose "File" > "New" > "Blank presentation".
- The click "Create" to create a blank presentation.
- Then go to "View" > "Master Views" > "Slide Master" in the ribbon.
- Then you can see the larger slide master and the associated layouts beneath the slide master.
- Select one layout from them like this. For example, choose this type.
- If there is no layout that meet you needs, choose "Blank Layout" as follows.
- In the selected layout slide, you can also change it. Drag the border of the box to adjust the right size.
- You can insert placeholders into the layout. Go to "Master Layout" > "Insert Placeholder" and choose one.
- Then drag the mouse to draw the placeholder in the place you want as follows.
- If you don't want any layout, right click on it and choose "Delete Layout" to remove it.
- In the above list, you can also choose "Format Background" to customize your own background.
- Then "Format Background" box will pop up. In the left pane, select them and then change the options on the right. At last, click "Close" or "Apply to All" as you like after your settings.
- Moreover, in the "Slide Master" tab, you can use "Edit Theme" to select your favourite theme, or click "Slide Orientation" to choose one direction.
- After you are satisfied with the slide master you created, click "File" > "Save As".
- Type in the file name and select "PowerPoint Template" format. Then click "Save".
- After that, return to the slide master and click "Close Slide Master" to close it.
